Questions about this service

Do I need to leave my filtration pump running over winter?

Not with a full winter shutdown. The system is drained dry of water so no electricity is consumed until spring.

Can you winterise an indoor pool?

Indoor pools are usually kept on a low background valet schedule instead, but we can mothball indoor systems if the property is unoccupied.

What happens if rainwater fills the pool back up?

We recommend checking the water level occasionally during winter; we also supply small submersible cover pumps if needed.

Our Clarity Promise

If you notice anything amiss after our visit, or if your water balance drifts within 48 hours, contact us immediately. We will return to your pool, re-test the chemistry, and correct the issue at our own expense without hesitation. Pricing & payment

Why pool owners trust ClearCrest

Frost protection and long-term chemical treatment for peace of mind over winter.

No burst pipe surprises

UK sub-zero snaps easily crack full outdoor pipes; thorough drainage eliminates expensive freeze repairs.

Clean water come springtime

Our winter chemicals stay active under the dark cover, preventing thick algae build-up before re-opening.

Saves winter energy costs

Proper shut down means your circulation pump and heating are not running needlessly through freezing months.

How our pool visits work

  1. 1Water level loweringWe pump down water to below the skimmer throats or set winter operating levels to prevent frost stress.
  2. 2Plant room drain downWe remove drain plugs from pumps, filters, and heat exchangers to prevent ice splitting the casings.
  3. 3Winter chemical dosingWe circulate heavy duty winteriser chemical to slow down algae and biofilm growth in cold dormant water.
  4. 4Cover strapping and securingWe tension your safety cover springs across the deck anchors to withstand British winter gales and falling leaves.

What our clients say about our visits

★★★★★
Our outdoor pool was cloudy after spring storms. ClearCrest sent Oliver, who diagnosed high cyanuric acid, adjusted the water, and vacuumed the floor spotless. Very tidy work.
Julian M., Guildford, GB
★★★★★
Reliable and punctual. They arrive right on schedule, clean the skimmer baskets, backwash the sand filter, and leave a printed water test slip. Great communication throughout.
Fiona H., Richmond, GB

Polite technicians who treat the garden patio with respect. Water balance is consistently spot-on, and paying via bank transfer after each visit makes billing effortless.
